CBC Leadership works to proactively plan and implement company goals on a yearly, monthly and even weekly basis. The Leadership Team is represented by various positions and experience levels within our company allowing multiple viewpoints be heard; making for a good cross-section when goals are set. Our team works hard on creating and building a culture at CBC that gives our associates an environment where they can learn, grow and be challenged in their careers.
Josh Corna
CEO and Owner
Josh is CEO and Owner of Continental Building Co. He leads the company's strategic direction, vision, and growth. Working closely with CBC's executive team, he drives all business and operational activities to produce successful projects that are in alignment with the company's core values and mission.
A 27-year veteran of the construction industry, Josh first learned the business from his father and grandfather. He worked in all positions, from laborer, foreman, superintendent, project engineer, project manager, and Senior VP of Operations, prior to becoming president of a regional construction company in 2015. After several years of leading strategic growth with that firm, in 2019 Josh left to become Owner and CEO of Continental Building Co.
Foundational to Josh’s beliefs and success has been his commitment and leadership to the greater construction industry. He has served as past president of the Builders Exchange of Central Ohio and the Central Ohio Associated General Contractors. He currently serves on the boards of the Builders Exchange of Central Ohio Foundation and as Vice President of the Associated General Contractors of Ohio.
Josh is also actively involved in the community. He is a current board member of Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA) and Columbus Next Generation Corporation. He is a past board member of the Ohio State Apprenticeship Council, Mount Carmel Foundation, Leadership Columbus, and the COSI Community Board.
Josh is an active member and past board member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO). In 2010, Josh was honored to be named to Columbus Business First's '40 Under 40' class. He is a 2002 graduation of Leadership Columbus and in 2017 was inducted into the Leadership Columbus Hall of Fame.
Josh is a graduate of Ohio University and lives in Upper Arlington with his wife, Amy, and their three children.
Brent Baker, AIA
Executive Vice President
Brent is Continental Building Co.'s Executive Vice President. He is a Registered Architect with a B.S. in Architecture from The Ohio State University and has 30 years of architecture and construction experience in both the public and private sector.
Under Brent's direction, CBC’s Preconstruction Services and Construction Operations teams ensure that owners make the most informed decisions regarding schedule, cost, subcontractor selection, and value analysis so they have confidence in their proformas before their project begins, during construction and at completion.
Brent is involved in the Central Ohio community serving with organizations such as the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus, the Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and The 2nd & 7 Foundation.
Brent and his wife Susan have been long time residents in Upper Arlington where they raised their two children.
Joshua Bohinc
Chief Financial Officer
As Continental Building Co.’s Chief Financial Officer, Joshua provides strategic leadership for financial, legal and risk management, allowing smooth operations across multiple simultaneous projects. He works with field operations to maximize project impact, value and efficiency available to our clients — relying on over 15 years of experience in professional services at KPMG US LLP and other F100 companies.
Joshua has B.S. Degrees in Finance and Accounting from The Ohio State University with a Minor in Economics and currently holds a CPA license in the state of Ohio.
Joshua lives in Westerville with his wife, Brooke, and their two children.
Matt Curtis
Vice President
Matt began his career in commercial construction in 1978. Over his career, he worked in various field supervision and project management capacities and eventually owned his own large commercial subcontracting company. He joined Continental Building Co. in 1995 and now serves as Vice President of CBC’s Pittsburgh office. He is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and oversight of all projects managed from the Pittsburgh office.
Matt has led our regional office and teams to successfully complete many notable and complex projects, including the $300 million Waterfront development in Homestead, PA; a LEED-gold new corporate headquarters for CONSOL Energy in Canonsburg, the North Shore developments in Pittsburgh, UBER’s Advanced Technology Center, The Distrikt Hotel, and three phases of student housing at Penn State, to name a few.
Matt and his wife Wendy reside in Churchill, PA where he serves as Zoning Hearing Board President and is on the Executive Board at Edgewood Country Club.
Lauren Drinkwine
Vice President
Lauren leads Continental Building Co.’s growth through cultivating relationships with people, and building lasting connections, both internally and externally. Her focus is on strategies that give CBC and their clients the best tools for successful outcomes on their construction projects. Lauren has 15 years of experience in the construction industry and started her career as a Project Engineer with experience in the field. She became a LEED AP and transitioned into Business Development because of her knowledge of managing a successful construction project and her natural ability to make connections.
She is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Biological Engineering, she received her master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing from Capital University, and is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Columbus.
In the Columbus community, Lauren supports organizations like the United Way, Greater Columbus Arts Council, Pelotonia, Salvation Army and Mid-Ohio Foodbank and currently serves on the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Development Board. Lauren was also a previous board member of Godman Guild.
Lauren resides in Worthington with her husband, Leo, and their two children.
Mike Schmitt
Vice President of Operations
Mike joined the team at Continental Building Co. in 2021 as Project Executive. In 2024, Mike was promoted to Vice President of Operations where he will be responsible for promoting safety on all projects, managing personnel, job cost, schedule and quality of projects, among many other responsibilities.
He has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University, is a LEED Accredited Professional, and has 18 years of CM, GC and Design/Build experience. Mike is a high-level communicator with extensive construction contract knowledge and is trained in LEAN Construction/continuous improvement methods.
A sample of projects Mike has been involved with include the redevelopment of the Kingsdale Center in Upper Arlington, OH; Columbus School for Girls expansion and theatre renovation, the Columbus Museum of Art expansion, multiple K-12 schools, higher education classroom buildings, warehouse/distribution centers, and senior living projects.
Mike lives in Granville with his wife, Emily, and their four sons. Mike is actively engaged in youth sports, scouting, and serves on the boards at COSI and The Works.
Michael Back
Senior Director of Preconstruction & Estimating
Michael has 25 years of experience in the construction industry and is Continental Building Co.'s Senior Director of Preconstruction and Estimating. He began his career at CBC as an Estimator and moved up to Senior Estimator before assuming the role of Chief Estimator in 2014.
Michael excels in the team environment and oversees, manages and leads the estimating teams in both Columbus and Pittsburgh. He works closely with our clients to enhance their experience throughout their important preconstruction process.
He lives in Ashville with his wife, Christina, and their two children.
Bill Hilderhoff
Project Executive
Bill has been a part of the Continental Building Co. team since 2004 and leads several project teams under his role as Project Executive. He is a Pittsburgh native with just over 40 years in the construction industry. He started his career as a residential certified remodeler and soon realized his interest was in commercial construction because he enjoys seeing the results of complex projects and the affects they have on how people work and enjoy life.
Some of Bill’s recent projects include Apple Blossom Senior Living, UBER’s Advanced Technology Center, SAP’s Corporate Office at the North Shore, and the Distrikt Hotel renovation in downtown Pittsburgh.
Bill and his wife Julia, along with the world's best dog, Winnie, live in Monroeville, PA. When not working, they enjoy being outdoors and spending time with their families.
Jeremy Ayres
Project Executive
Jeremy is a Project Executive who joined the Continental Building Co. team in 2016. He holds an Associate degree in Construction Management and a B.S. in Business Management, and has worked his way up from laborer to Project Executive during his 34 years in the construction industry.
Jeremy’s experience has been on large‐scale, intricate projects, including the $120 M renovation to the Ohio Statehouse, numerous Ohio k‐12 and higher education projects, and several high-end-design hotels. His most recent projects include the Westar Renaissance by Marriott, the Toledo dual-brand Hilton, Battelle Hyatt House, and Marriott AC Hotel in downtown Columbus.
Jeremy and his wife, Robin, have been life-long residents of Chillicothe, OH where they raised their two children and now enjoy spending time with their grandchild and traveling to St. Louis to visit their son.
John Hoover
Project Executive
John is a graduate of he University of Pittsburgh and has spent 25 years in the construction industry. He joined the Continental Building Co. team in 2011 as Project Manager and then promoted to his current role as Project Executive. His acute attention to detail, strategic buyout skills, and rigor on meeting project schedules, have allowed him to achieve success on small and large projects alike.
John’s most recent projects include Red Cedar Student Housing and Senior Living development in Lansing, MI; Latitude student housing in Kent, OH; and The Waters of Wexford, senior living complex.
John lives in Lower Burrell, PA with his wife, Erica, and their three daughters.
Rob Modany
Project Executive
As Project Executive with Continental Building Co., Rob leads several teams on large scale, complex projects. He has a degree in Civil Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, is a LEED Accredited Professional, a registered Professional Engineer and has 30 years of experience in the construction industry.
Rob has been with our Pittsburgh office for 20 years. During this time, he has lead project teams on notable projects such as CONSOL Energy’s LEED Gold headquarters, extensive renovations of the K & L Gates building, the Fairfield Inn & Suites, Equitable’s headquarters at the North Shore, and Red Cedar, a mixed-use development in Lansing, MI.
Rob lives in Ohioville, PA with his wife (and high school sweetheart), Julie. They enjoy spending time with their two adult children and grandchild.
Matt Harbuck
Director of Safety
Matt has been a leader in construction safety practices since 2008. As Continental Building Co.'s Director of Safety, Matt is involved with each of our projects from preconstruction to turnover. He leads the safety culture within CBC and ensures our #1 core value of safety is at top of mind so that everyone goes home safely each day. He makes sure all associates have the most up-to-date training available and that each person on site is practicing safety day in and day out.
Matt is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Construction Systems Management. He started his career with CBC as an intern, moved to Safety Manager and was promoted to Director of Safety in 2016.
Matt and his wife, Drew reside in Canal Winchester where they are raising their two boys.
