Continental Building Company (CBC) is searching for students to intern with us who are pursuing a Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or Architecture. Often, these internships lead to a Project Engineer position with CBC, with plenty of room for growth. Project Engineer positions provide project support and assist the Project Manager.

My internship with CBC has been an amazing experience, the entire team has done so much to help me to get the most out of this opportunity. Coming into this internship as a civil engineer with very little experience in the construction industry, I was immediately exposed to a wide variety of new applications of the concepts I have learned thus far in college. My team here did everything they could to make the transition easy for me and ensured I was not overwhelmed by too much new information at once. They were always eager to help me to gain a deep understanding of everything that interested me. There hasn’t been a boring day since I started, and there is always something new to learn. I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience from this internship and had a great time doing it!

At CBC, they give you a challenge, but they guide you along - they don’t throw you into the middle of the pool and expect you to swim – they are going to be there with you. When one of my mentors challenged me to get out there and try something new, he looked me in the eye and said “you can do it” and that meant a lot to me.

I had the pleasure to intern at Continental Building Company’s Pittsburgh office. The experience was nothing short of amazing. The work environment was fantastic, with everyone being extremely helpful and friendly. Additionally, through the mentorship of everyone on the project, I was able to learn so much, with all my questions being answered as quickly as they arose. By the time it was over, I felt like I gained so much from this experience. By my last day, I was sad to say goodbye to everyone.

One of the most important things for me was the support I received as an intern, and as I became a full-time team member. Everything was new to me and is still a new learning experience.
